This excursion features the closest approach to recent lava flows allowed by Civil Defense and local authorities. Trained guides will escort you on this great tour. And if conditions permit, you may be able to go right to the edge of a 2000 degree F molten lava flow!
Even if Pele is serene the day of your visit, you'll be treated to a grand tour of recently-created areas, where Hawaii is growing larger even today. Besides, there's an interesting presentation at the park, where you'll watch an exciting film of a recent eruption.
This tour also takes you to other fascinating sights, including Steam Bluffs, the Thurston lava tube, the Kilauea Iki Crater and more. |
