This is the ultimate one passenger ride where we combine Scenic, Aerobatic, and Flight Lesson into this this all-in-one combo-ride!
First take a scenic sailplane ride along Oahu's world famous North Shore up to Waimea Bay with your experienced FAA certified sailplane instructor.. Experience the thrill and serenity of soaring, silently flying with only the whispering sound of the winds outside the cockpit. You can view the lush Waianae Mountains, rugged cliffs, coral reefs, and breaking surf. Depending on the length of the ride and the weather conditions, you will see most of the island of Oahu, including Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head and Honolulu.
Next is the aerobatic experience. You'll be flying in an aerobatic sailplane that is built stronger than most WWII fighter planes. Take a look at the world from a whole new perspective, upside down! Feel up to 4 G's pushing you into your seat. You decide how many aerobatic maneuvers and what type of ride you want, wild or mild, you call the shots! |
Wrap up your flight with a flying lesson. With instruction from your experienced FAA certified sailplane instructor, you will fly the high performance sailplane! Learn how the controls work and go thru some basic flying maneuvers. This is a great way to add an extra thrill to your flight. Be the pilot as little or as much as you like. Your introductory flight lesson will be logged on a complimentary logbook sheet by your certified instructor. |

From Waikiki
Take the H1 hiways westbound. Keep going west until you come to H-2. Get on H-2 and head north. Drive to the end of H-2 through the town of Schofield.
After passing through Schofield the road turns into "Y". Stay left on the Y to the town of Waialua. In the small town of Waialua, take a left at the stop sign and drive under the "Overpass" bridge on Hwy 930 (Farrington Hwy) to Mokuleia. The signs are poor in Waialua. From the "overpass" bridge, it is 5 miles to Dillingham Airfield.
There are three entrances to the airfield. Take a left at the second entrance (gate #2).When you pull into the parking lot area, you will see a building towards the mountains side of the parking lot. Honolulu Soaring is located on the left side of the building under the sign "SAILPLANE RIDES". Walk to the left side of the building and ask for Honolulu Soaring.
It takes about one hour to drive from Waikiki to Dillingham Air Field. |
