Kayak-Snorkel Ultimate Adventure
Maui is blessed with so many kayak-snorkel areas just off the coast. Hawaiian Ultimate Adventures offers many kayak trips with white sand beaches, lava rocks and caves, awesome underwater reefs and some of the best snorkeling in the world.
Snorkeling is usually done at 2 locations and your guides will teach you how to snorkel correctly, pointing out the fish and naming them, also bringing things up form the bottom so you can get a close look at the beautiful creatures most never get a chance to see. Diverse areas offer majestic lava formations, sandy beaches, shoreline caves, arches, secluded bays, coral gardens and a myriad of tropical fish. Also it is common to see sea turtles, eagle rays, wild dolphins, and (during the winter season) humpback whales.
Kayak and Snorkel adventure locations:
Olowalu Location - West Maui - All Year Long The gorgeous west shore is known for shallow calm clear water. You'll marvel at the astounding west shore scenery including the majestic West Maui Mountains and the Ukumehame Valley. You'll snorkel at 1 or 2 spots. A myriad of tropical fish and sea turtles await you at Coral Gardens & Olowalu Marine Sanctuary. During the winter months (December through March) you'll see humpback whales that migrate each winter to the warm waters off of Maui. It's estimated that there are nearly 3,500 whales here each season. It's a feeling you can't describe when you see these gentle giants up so close. It's like nothing you have ever experienced. This location is centrally located and can be found south of the Chez Paul Restaurant, between mile markers 13 and 14. |
D.T. Fleming Beach Location - North Maui - May through September You will launch from the beautiful D.T. Fleming beach park and paddle north along the rugged shorelines few people will ever see. This is truly a summer favorite. You'll make your way toward Honolua Bay, a natural marine reserve. This location is a great place to spot playful dolphins, see lots of colorful fish, giant sea turtles and beautiful coral.
Makena Landing Location - South Maui - All Year Long Hawaiian Ultimate Adventures will meet you at the Makena Bay Landing Beach Park. This location offers a beautiful coastline with views of the Molokini Atoll and the dormant Haleakala Volcano. You'll snorkel over colorful reefs and in Turtle Town, which is known for its abundant green sea turtle population. You will also see a variety of colorful fish. During the winter months (December through March) you'll see humpback whales that migrate each winter to the warm waters off of Maui. |
