The only ocean-front luau in Waikiki, the Royal Hawaiian Luau features authentic Hawaiian food and exciting Polynesian entertainment.

Royal Hawaiian Luau

Only The Royal Hawaiian Hotel - also known as the 'The Pink Palace of the Pacific' - can present such a tropically elegant luau. With a backdrop of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach, your evening begins with Hawaiian melodies and refreshing Mai Tais or Luau Punch on the Ocean Lawn, where each guest is greeted with a lei. An island mainstay attraction, The Royal Hawaiian Luau has entertained Kamaaina (residents) and visitors for over 40 years.

The evening continues under the stars with a feast of foods from the Islands. The buffet dinner includes island specialties such as roasted kalua pig, mahi saute, teriyaki steak, lomi salmon, poi, sweet potato, haupia and a selection of desserts from the dessert table.

The crowning glory of the Royal Luau is the spectacular Royal Polynesian Extravaganza. Everyone is sure to enjoy the song and dance of the islands as well as those from other Pacfic Rim locations that have influenced the unique culture found only in Hawaii.

Special Announcement: The Royal Hawaiian Luau will be closed from June 2nd 2008 through January of 2009 (estimated), as the hotel where the luau is held will be undergoing major renovations.

The food was spectacular...among the best Hawaiian food we had during our vacation. The entertainment had its ups and downs. The dancers were really good. The fire dancer was awesome. The virtuoso ukulele player was phenomenal! The male host was average, and the female singer (some kind of former beauty queen) was horrible.

My three sisters and I were in Oahu for an eight day stay at the Outrigger Waikiki. So all we had to do was walk next door for the luau. It was delicious, and the show was fabulous, with the main attraction of the show being the little girl doing the hula.
All of the performers did an excellent job, and it looked like all customers had a good view of show. I would highly recommend dinner show to anyone, matter of fact, have done so to people who I have discussed trip with.
