Deluxe Arizona Memorial & Historic City Tour
A scenic 4 hour narrated tour exploring the Arizona Memorial, the Punchbowl Crater National cemetery and the historic city of Honolulu, Hawaii.
The full Pearl Harbor experience takes you to the Arizona Memorial Visitor Center where you can view the historical artifacts related to the attack on Pearl Harbor. Then watch the stirring 15 minute presentation in the theater prior to boarding the a US Navy shuttle boat for the trip out to the USS Arizona. The short boat ride will bring you to the USS Arizona Memorial, which is located in Pearl Harbor directly above the sunken US Navy warship.
After the tour of the Arizona, head to historical points in downtown Honolulu and then on to the majestic Punchbowl Cemetery. The 114 acre "Hill of Sacrifice" is similar to the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington Virginia. 776 casualties from the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor were the first to be buried at the "Punchbowl". An impressive memorial overlooks the beautiful volcanic crater. |
A white tower holds the 30 foot high female figure "Columbia" which stands as a symbol of a US Navy carrier's prow. She carries a laurel branch in her left hand, and her right hands points to the inscription below "…the Solemn Pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom" - Abraham Lincoln.
The view from the Punchbowl encompasses the city of Honolulu from Waikiki and Diamond Head to the east and Pearl Harbor to the west. Take this historic journey in the luxurious comfort of the Royal Star Renaissance Motorcoach.
The motorcoach will pick you up at (or very close to) your hotel in Waikiki and bring you back there after the tour. Enjoy a relaxing, historical trip into Hawaii's past! |

Nice to let someone else do the driving

We came to Oahu thinking we would rent a car and visit all the sites as we had done during our last visit in 2000. But we had so much trouble finding an affordable rental car and we remembered how hard (and expensive!) it was to find a parking place. So we opted this time to hang out in Waikiki and take the bus to the North Shore, Dole plantation etc.
We had never been to the Punchbowl and wanted to take some pictures there to show to famliy back home, so we found the Arizona/Punchbowl tour and decided we could take new pics of both places. I remember trying to find the Arizona Memorial the last time we went there. Traffic was a nighmare and we got lost twice by getting off the highway and not being able to get back on! So it was nice to take the comfy tour bus and relax in the AC while someone else drove! It was well worth the $25 bucks. |

It's kind of surreal standing above the USS Arizona.

One of the most moving experiences of my life was our visit to the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. As we walked through the museum, it became quite evident that this would be a very somber tour. It was as if we were transported back in time to December 7, 1941 and most people were very somber as they viewed the many artifacts on display. The actual trip to the memorial was even more emotional. Many of the people with us (especially a World War II vet and a Japanese woman) were visibly shaken by the trip as they cried openly at the memorial. Seeing the remains of the Arizona and the fuel oil still leaking out of the hull to the surface left an everlasting image in my mind. Highly recommended. |
