Kualoa Ranch Horseback Ride
Kualoa is one of the historically most significant destinations on Oahu. In ancient times, it was one of the most sacred places on the island. Come experience the aloha and special sense of 'ohana' (family) that the Kualoa employees will share with you.
Horseback riding is an unforgettable activity you can enjoy at beautiful Kualoa Ranch. Kualoa's horseback rides combine that special bond with horses with the most spectacular scenery on Oahu. On horseback, riders take different trails beneath the cliffs and overlooking the ocean. You'll explore beautiful landscapes and get to see hidden spots that can't be seen from the road and are only accessible on horseback!
You can choose between two tours. On the one-hour horseback riding tour you will see the southern half of the ranch. Vistas of the famed "Chinaman's Hat" Mokoli'i Island and an ancient 800 year-old Hawaiian fishpond accompany the great feeling of spending time riding horses. |
The two-hour horseback riding tour will take you to the northern part of the ranch deep into Ka'a'awa Valley. You'll ride through forested areas, past World War II bunkers and into Ka'a'awa Valley, all with fantastic views of the Ko'olau Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
These tours are great for novice riders as well as for experts. Even if you've never sat on a horse before, you can participate in these tours. All horses are well-trained and gentle. So visit Kualoa Ranch & Activity Club in Ka'a'awa and share the beauty of nature! |

2 Hours of Magic at Kualoa Ranch

Horseback riding in the jungle sounds wildly exciting and romantic --- and this experience actually delivers that magic! This gentle trail ride offers spectacular views of the ocean and the mountains. I was glad that I had time to photograph the exotic terrain that has been used in so many movies like Jurassic Park and Godzilla. The guides are friendly and very helpful, and even stopped to pick up my sunglasses when they fell on the trail. I will never forget the ride and I'd love to do it again sometime. Thank you, Big Kahuna, for making it possible. |

Excellent!

We took the 2 hour ride and it was fantastic. We got to see a lot of the island and some hidden spots that we never would have gotten to see had we not taken the ride. The tour guide was also great, and told us a lot about the history of the ranch including different movies and TV shows that were shot there. I would highly recommend this ranch to anyone who is planning on vacationing on Oahu. |

We loved the Kualoa Ranch
Reviewer: Brian and Clara Richards (Atlanta, USA) May 27, 2006

As people who love nature, a horseback tour at Kualoa Ranch was one of the favorite things we did while in Hawaii. We did a one-hour horseback ride through the ranchlands. The surrounding scenery was very beautiful. We got the chance to see Chinaman’s Hat island, an old Hawaiian fishpond and the whole southern part of the ranch. We could take plenty of pictures because the ride pace was really slow. The group we rode with was small and the guide friendly. We met him at our arrival at the ranch. Before we started the tour, he gave a brief overview of horseback riding and he gave us some useful tips for the horses, which we needed as inexperienced riders. Kualoa Ranch is an amazing place to visit and we recommend it to all nature lovers who visit Hawaii. The only thing we did not like was the fact that the horseback tour was a bit pricey for a one-hour tour. If you decide to go, you’d better get the two-hour tour. It is only $30 dollars more and you will get the chance to see more of the ranch. One hour is just not enough to see it all. |
