Na Pali Sunset Dinner 4-hour Sail
Enjoy a 4 hour sailing cruise around the western coast of Kauai! Slip through the turquoise waters of the protected Napali Coast State Park as we pass the westernmost point of Kauai. Beautiful vistas slowly unfold as we sail north toward the center of the Napali Coast. Endless waterfalls, sea cliffs and twisted lava tubes can all be view from any of the many comfortable spots aboard the sailboat including the shaded cabin area and cozy cushioned seating.
Fresh sliced seasonal fruit is the snack of choice and is just an appetizer for the scrumptious catered dinner. Dinner features a menu of Kauai garden salad served with Na Pali sunrise papaya seed dressing - ginger sesame marinated Kauai tomato, green bean & red onion salad - teriyaki chicken topped with diced pineapple - Pulehu of beef with sautéed mushrooms & onions in garlic sauce - Kaffir lime & lemon rice pilaf. And pineapple bars for dessert.
Wind and wave conditions differ depending on the season, but the western side of Kauai is protected from the prevailing winds. The captains and crew draw on all of their experience to find the best possible conditions available on any given day. If conditions are unfavorable, the sail will be rescheduled. |
The "Akialoa" is a fully-rigged sailboat that can zip along at speeds up to 20 knots. The twin hull 55' "catamaran" design offers a smooth and comfortable ride. The boat has ample comfortable seating for 49 passengers, a submerged swim platform, a dry cabin for dining, a full bar, non-skid flooring, a large bow trampoline and clean restrooms.
Among the wildlife that you may see during the day are green sea turtles, flying fish, dolphins, monk seals and many types of sea birds and tropical fish. From January through April, you can also see humpback whales which are "vacationing" in the warm Hawaiian waters.
The final point of the sail is Hoolulu* on the northern Napali Coast, some of the most dramatic, powerful and scenic coastline in all of Kauai. See the incredible Honopu Beach - two virtually inaccessible beaches connected by a massive lava-rock archway.
*Sailing to Hoolulu is conditions permitting. |

So many dolphins!

The Napali cruise was wonderful. At first, we sighted a few dolphins and were thrilled. An hour later, we had seen so many dolphins so close up, well, it was just like they were part of the crowd. And the water is so clear, like a huge swimming pool. I still can't believe that such a paradise exists on earth. It was amazing. |

We were a little worried about sea sickness, but the sail was wonderful.

The Napali coastline is just incredible. Like paradise on earth. The sailboat was very smooth (it has a catamaran design). We were a little worried about getting sea sick, but it felt very comfortable. I would recommend this trip to anyone! |
