Pearl Harbor Stars and Stripes Tour
Whether you're an American or international visitor, interested in world history or not, this tour will be a moving experience. It combines the two most recognized World War II memorials, the Arizona Memorial and the USS Missouri Memorial. Both located at Pearl Harbor, you'll visit the sited where WWII began and ended for the United States.
Your historical exploration begins with seeing real footage of the actual attack and a tour of the Arizona Memorial – a commemoration of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. You'll hear how a quiet Sunday morning was shattered by bombs, left thousands dead and brought the U.S. into WWII. At the Memorial site, you can pay your respects to the hundreds of American servicemen entombed in the battleship below.
Your journey continues with a guided tour of the battleship USS Missouri (the "Mighty Mo”), where General MacArthur accepted the unconditional surrender of the Japanese, marking the end of WWII. You'll hear stories of the battle ships illustrious career including its involvement in the invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa during WWI, and her participation in the Korean War and Persian Gulf. |
After your Pearl Harbor visit of the Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri, you will return to Honolulu with a drive through of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl Crater. Located near downtown Honolulu, this site marks where many of those who lost their lives in the Pacific Naval War are buried.
Your final stop is the U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii where you will experience the history of the U.S. Army in Hawaii and the Pacific as well as a tribute to ancient Hawaiian warriors.
Note: Security at Pearl Harbor is tight. Don't bring any bags or purses along, but cameras are allowed. Shoes and shirts must be worn. |

Pearl Harbor was awe inspiring. There are no words that can describe how one feels looking at these magnificent ships holding the graves of our brave comrades. The battleship Missouri was incredible. I had a problem with the time, for me, it was not enough time to view these great exhibits. We were told we would eat lunch at the Missouri, and our group headed back early. I was not happy. I did not get to see the Missouri in all her Glory. Being military and from Missouri I would have appreciated more time to explore her. Mario, our guide was very nice though. |
