Rainforest and Coastal Nature Odyssey
This fully-guided tour will take you on a journey to the finest natural areas Oahu has to offer. Your adventure starts in the lush mountain rainforests and in the afternoon, you'll explore some of the island's prettiest coastal areas. You'll learn about the history of ancient Oahu's settlements, agriculture, temples, fishponds, burial caves and battlegrounds.
After being picked up from your hotel in the morning, you'll hike to Manoa Falls, a 200-foot tall waterfall that is the tallest accessible waterfall on Oahu. Its spectacular natural beauty goes beyond ones imagination. Rainbows are commonly seen through the misty Manoa rainforest.
Later, you'll travel through the lush Halawa Valley to the windward (east) side of Oahu. Along the way, you'll see ancient burial caves and sparkling waterfalls high in the cliffs above.
Once you reach the other side of the island, there'll be a stop at the Mokapu peninsula to enjoy the panoramic views of beautiful Kaneohe Bay. Here you'll also learn about the ancient Nuupia and Kaluapuhi fishponds, a sacred area once owned by the Hawaiian windward chiefs. |
After your visit to the rainforest and these magnificent cultural sites, you'll travel to the white-sand Kailua Beach, which has been voted the best beach in the world by Conde Naste Traveler. Its sand is as soft as powder and as white as snow.
Have a relaxing swim in the amazingly clear turquoise water and enjoy the uncrowded surroundings and calm atmosphere. Go for a short walk and explore nearby tide pools. Or catch a few waves on a boogie board! From Kailua Beach, you'll also have a great view of the offshore Mokulua Islands, which are home to many migratory seabirds.
