Every evening, as a dazzling sunset colors the sky over crystal blue seas and highlights the silhouettes of Molokai and Lanai in the background, Old Hawaii beckons at Maui's best oceanfront location. The Royal Lahaina Resort at Kaanapali Beach presents an unforgettable cultural celebration of the dances, music and traditional festivities of the Hawaiian and Polynesian people.
You are invited to join the Royal Lahaina Ohana (family). Enjoy an evening of traditional Hawaiian celebrations. Upon arrival at the oceanfront luau gardens, you'll be welcomed with a lei and offered a Mai Tai from the open bar. Afterward, you'll witness the traditional imu ceremony, in which the Kalua pig, the main course in the buffet dinner, is unearthed from its underground oven. This signals the start of the buffet dinner, which features traditional Hawaiian as well as continental American foods.
After dinner, sit back and let Royal Lahaina's dynamic cast of singers, dancers, drummers and musicians take you on a spellbinding journey through the South Pacific islands of Tahiti, Samoa and Hawaii. The evening is topped of with the breathtaking and pulse-quickening Samoan fire-knife dance. Embrace the spell of Hawaii's ancient past with this rousing Polynesian extravaganza.
You can choose between two packages. The Show Only package is ideal if you just want to see the show and not participate in the luau. It doesn't include dinner. |
With the Luau and Show package you get the complete luau experience. You'll enjoy the delicious dinner buffet and see the spectacular fast paced Polynesian Revue.

Great Time!

This luau was recommended to us by a co-worker that had been there last summer. We had a wonderful time. We got there an hour early and paid the extra $15 per person for VIP treatment. We sat in an air conditioned bar and had free drinks and snacks until we were ready to take our seats outside. We had the best seats in the house, right in front of the stage. The food was absolutely delicious and so many choices, some things we had never even heard of but tried them anyway. The VIP's were allowed to go the buffet first, before any of the other tables. Everyone was mingling and talking and taking pictures and helping others take pictures. You looked out over the ocean to a sunset that was beautiful and everyone was helping everyone take pictures of each other with the sunset to their back. The performers were so good and there was audience participation at times. I would definitely do it again. |

Great Authentic Hawaiian Experience!!
Reviewer: GSA (WASHINGTON, USA) July 19, 2008

This was our 4th time to the Royal Lahaina Luau. We continue to choose this Luau for its great food and entertainment! The last two times we took advantage of the Premier Seating and enjoyed early cocktails and drinks at the Tiki bar versus waiting in line. With Premier seating we had stage front seats to enjoy the show!
We will definitely return to the Royal Lahaina Luau to get in the Hawaiian Spirit on our next trip to Maui! |

Great Luau
Reviewer: Olivia (Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico) April 29, 2007

I booked this luau for my family and it was everything it promised to be. Let me just give a piece of advise: arrive earlier than it says in the reservation. Luckily we got there about half an hour before and there was already a line of people waiting to get into the luau. The door opened a little earlier than expected. We got good seats, since your are seated on a first come, first served basis. The food and the show were excellent, and so was the price. I would definitely recommend it! |
