Scenic Sailplane Ride
Take a scenic sailplane (glider) ride along Oahu's world famous North Shore. Experience the thrill and serenity of soaring, silently flying with only the whispering sound if the wind outside your cockpit. You can view the lush Waianea Mountains, rugged cliffs, coral reefs, and breaking surf.
Depending on the length of the ride and the weather conditions, you will see most of the island of Oahu, including Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head and Honolulu. Two passenger scenic rides (with passengers sitting side by side) are available for those who would like to share their Sailplane Ride experience together.
The tour occurs 7 days a week and is available from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The length of the tour varies from 15 to 60 minutes.
Roundtrip transportation from Waikiki is available. |

Directions to Dillingham Airfield It takes about one hour to drive from Waikiki to Dillingham Airfield.
From Waikiki get on H-1 and go west. Keep going west until you come to H-2. Get on H-2 and head north. Drive to the end of H-2 through the town of Schofield. After passing through Schofield the road turns into "Y". Go left on the Y to the town of Waialua. In the small town of Waialua, take a left at the stop sign and drive under the "Overpass" bridge on Hwy 930 (Farrington Hwy) to Mokuleia.
From the "overpass" bridge, it is 5 miles to Dillingham Airfield.
There are three entrances to the airfield. Take a left at the second entrance (gate #2). When you pull into the parking lot area, you will see a building towards the mountains side of the parking lot.
Soar Hawaii is located on the left side of the building under the sign "SAILPLANE RIDES". Walk to the left side of the building and ask for Soar Hawaii. The receptionist will be happy to help you. |
