The fun and enjoyment of an evening at this famous Luau begins long before you sit down to feast on a delicious authentic Hawaiian meal. From the minute you step on to the chartered luxury motor coach that will carry you to the ocean side luau, it's easy to see that this is no ordinary experience.
Take in the rich cultural heritage of the Pacific Islands.
The pleasant and entertaining ride from Waikiki to Oahu's sunny west shore is a chance for one of the friendly hosts to greet guests and prepare them for the evening ahead. Guests who board the bus as strangers will feel like members of the Ohana, or extended family, by the time they step off. Upon arrival at at the luau, you are welcomed with a traditional shell lei and greeted by the majestic beauty of a luau on a tropical Pacific Ocean beach.
An impressive ceremonial event at the Luau is the opening of the imu (underground oven). This is the traditional rock-filled oven where the Kalua Pig is placed early in the day and gently roasted to succulent perfection. Gather to watch the pig being removed from the oven while the method and traditions of imu cooking are detailed.
After exploring the beautiful Luau grounds and taking in the many intriguing activities, get set to experience some great food – island style! Help yourself to the multi-course Hawaiian Buffet …a combination of traditional island favorites and continental (traditional American) fare. Tempt your taste buds with such exotic specialties as Lomilomi Salmon and Kalua Pig, Poi (taro) and Mahimahi (fish), and be sure to save room for some tasty dessert items to round out your culinary experience. To quench your thirst, there is everything from fruit punch to the special tropical drinks like the "Mai Tai" and the "Blue Hawaii". Complimentary unlimited soft drinks, hot coffee and hot tea are provided for your refreshment throughout the evening. Every adult will receive 3 complimentary alcoholic beverage coupons. A variety of tropical, blended and specialty beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are also available at the cash bar. |
The luau boasts an open seating arrangement that allows you to sit where you choose during the dinner and the show. You may enjoy sitting at the traditional low luau tables fronting the stage where you can enjoy your meal on the woven mats, just as the ancient Hawaiians did. It's the perfect place to see both the pre-show entertainment, and later the spectacular Polynesian Revue.
Spectacular entertainment delivered to you at the ocean's edge, under the stars and palm trees.
After dinner guests are treated to a colorful showcase of authentic song and dance from many Pacific Island nations, including Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Samoa and New Zealand. It provides guests with a cultural tour of the South Pacific, featuring performances ranging from fierce ceremonial war dances to fondly remembered Hawaiian love ballads and a pulse pounding Samoan Fire-Knife Dance.
Enjoy the sense of belonging, where you are part of the celebration.
One of the most important aspects of the luau is the welcoming spirit and "aloha" shared by all. Early in the show, all the women are invited up on stage for a fun hula lesson. The men then have a chance to show off their moves, Tahitian style! Audience participation is encouraged throughout the entire evening, and you are invited to be part of the fun! |

My first and amazing visit to Hawaii

I would like to say how easy it is to plan a vacation from my own home. The website is easy and very detail on reservation for luau. The day of the luau, we met the most amazing tour guide. He said to call him cousin Kulio( i hope i spelled it correctly if not my apology). The bus ride was so much fun. He entertained us all. He is a natural entertainer. From the hotel to the luau and from the luau back to he hotel, he made it very comfortable and entertaining. Of course we had an amazing luau. The food, the dancers, the atmosphere everything was just how I wanted it to be. My husband and I and our four boys are hoping to come back next summer.Thank you very much for a lovely vacation. |

The ten Fore's were met at the hotel by a bus hosted by Holly who provided information to and from the Luau in an upbeat manner. The food at the Luau was not very warm even though we were the first in line because we had 3 children with us. The entertainment was great, especially the fire dancer which enthralled our 3-year old granddaughter. The setting at ocean side was pretty. We had a good time. |

Germaine's Luau
Reviewer: Linzee43 (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) March 5, 2008

We booked with the Big Kahuna and found the best price to be with this site for the activity we were interested in. The entire process was easy and our voucher was accepted without any problems. The luau was a fantastic experience for my entire family which included myself, my husband, our two boys, 3 Austin, 2.5 Joel, my sister and her husband and our parents! We had wonderful seats, the entertainment was wonderful, my sons love the fire dancer. The imu ceremony was quite interesting although, I expected a complete whole pig to come out of the oven...lol All in all, if we are to go to the islands again, we will check this site for any and all touring we'd like to do. |

Best deal on a great luau!
Reviewer: LMUDZSIS (El Segundo, USA) February 21, 2008

This was a great deal on a very fun filled evening. Germaine's Luau exceeded my expectations, it was very intimate, and had an absolutely amazing sunset. It was probably the best sunset I have ever seen on Oahu. The food was better than expected for a buffet, you couldn't help but eat yourself silly. The Polynesian dance show was fantastic, and not overly cheesy. We drove ourselves, which was nice because most came on the buses which can be loud. Don't be alarmed by the neighborhood, the location is right on the coastline and much prettier than the area suggests. |

Reviewer: heather (Connecticut, USA) June 17, 2007

The luau was a blast. My sister and I met a few families while we were there, the drinks were great, and we had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and watching the hula dancers was quite the treat. The food was good - and you were welcome to as much of it as you liked. The complimentary drinks were very good, and we were happy that we went to Germaine's! |

Customer Review - Germaine's Lu'au 2007
Reviewer: Wahine0507 (San Francisco, USA) June 10, 2007
|
Enjoyed the show greatly. Our table was chosen during our visit since we were all wahine and, as a nice coincidence, a gentleman in the audience was chosen, as he was to serve in Iran the following day.
I gave a 3-star rating because it lacked a homey-style quality that I love at a lu'au. The musical kind--I believe the musicians should share the stage since they complete the setting for entertainment--a solo perhaps. Your musicians were only a few guys in the backdrop and with no talk story. Also, it seemed more a fashion show at one point than of an authentic aspect.
Overall, the food was ono (delicious). I was satisfied and would recommend the luau to friends, but those are the items I would enjoy as a visitor. Mahalo nui loa. -GT |

We were greeted by a very friendly guide Cousin Gerry. He made us feel very welcomed. The food was great and we were able to get our food very quickly considering the amount of people that were there. We enjoyed the entertainment. The young people that entertained us were very well trained. We arrived back at our ship in good time. So we enjoyed it thoroughly. |

Hawaii under the Stars
Reviewer: Margi (Brisbane, Australia) February 21, 2007

I visited this luau 18 years ago and was very pleased to see the standard has still been kept as high as it was the first time. A beautiful and picturesque park beside a lovely bay gave us a true Hawaiian sunset. It was great seeing the pig come out of the underground oven and the taste was superb! All the food was great and the buffet table was laid out so well that everyone was served quickly. The dancing and costumes were beautiful and the invited audience participation was very entertaining. Our bus escort, Mark, was probably the best guide I had ever had anywhere in the world and if you are lucky enough to have him on your bus you are assured a fun filled evening.
The whole evening was handled expertly by Big Kahuna. We received our voucher promptly and our bus was sitting waiting for us at the designated time. I wouldn't hesitate to book all my activities through Big Kahuna. |

We were very happy with our service from Big Kahuna. Our scheduled date was rained out and we were notified with plenty of time to reschedule our evening. We will be returning in Jan 2008 and will definitely be using Big Kahuna. Thank You so much! |

From the moment we boarded our bus till we returned to Waikiki it was fun and exciting. The people at Germaines strive to make you feel like family and that feeling spreads to include the people you are sitting with for dinner. The food was tasty, the show was great and the atmosphere was relaxing, comfortable and friendly. |

I have been to Hawaii many times. I have been to this luau 5 times! It is a must do every time we go to Oahu. We have done other luau's on other islands and none come close to this one. I would recommend it to everyone. It really gives you the hawaiian spirit of family. You will cherish your experience! |
