Windsurfing Shortboard Basics
This class gives you an introduction to shortboard riding. Learn the basic skills needed on "floaty" transition boards or lower volume slalom or wave boards. You can choose if you'd like to cover each of the individual techniques separately or combined for an overview lesson. The harness technique and footstrap skills can often take one full lesson each to master. It's recommended that you master the harness technique before progressing to the footstraps.
More advanced sailors can use this class as a refresher course or as an introduction to ocean sailing. You and your guide can review and improve a combination of techniques. (Jibing is taught in the Jibing Class). Water-starting is very helpful in this class but not essential. Bring your own board or rent one of their excellent "transition" boards. |

- Choose between a 2 hour group lesson or 1.5 hour private lesson

Drive to the Kahului Airport, go past the terminal, when the road curves left, stay in the right lane, then turn right at the "Rental Car Return" sign. Drive all the way through until you reach the "Stop" sign. Turn RIGHT at the Stop sign, drive along Alaho Street, go all the way till you reach the "Dead End" sign. Turn into the last parking lot, with the green metal sign that says "Kanaha Beach Park." Drive all the way to the back of the lot and look for the Action Sports van. Meet at the Van! |
